Your house is your shelter in the world of Die2Nite. It is where you go to drink water and eat food when inside the town. Any messages or complaints sent to you from other players, or messges from TheCrow, will be displayed under the Messages tab.
The house is also a last line of defense if zombies break through the town's defense.
The defense numbers shown in the table below is your 'personal' defense.
Upgrades[]
Upgrading to a tent is mostly free - it only costs 2 AP. However, further upgrades use up valuable resources, so unless you want the whole town to hate you you might want to avoid upgrading to a hovel! Except for the first upgrades (Camp bed to Tent) You can only upgrade once each day. From the house upgrade onwards it will be protected from theft. Every upgrade costs 2 AP in addition to the resources listed.

Hero Upgrades[]
There are many benefits to being a Hero. Among these are a set of upgrades you can make to your house which can allow you to make more efficent use of resources, regain expended AP, add defence or storage or provide security for items in your chest.

Improvements[]
The last tab gives detailed information on your house, including the upgrade level, any Hero Uprages/Improvements and your scores for decorations and defense, with a breakdown of how much each of the items in your chest contribute to these. It also includes a Personal Announcement box, where you can display a message that everyone will see on the Citizen's page.
